Feature and Follow Friday, Book Blogger Hop, & Celebrate the Small Things

I am excited to participate in the awesome Feature & Follow hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.  Check out their fabulous websites for the info and join the Hop!

This week's feature is to share your favorite literary quote.

Before you act, listen.
Before you react, think.
Before you spend, earn.
Before you criticize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive.
Before you quit, try.

~Ernest Hemingway

And from S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders

"Stay gold, Ponyboy, stay gold."

"I lie to myself all the time. But I never believe me."

June 21st - June 27th:
When you are writing your reviews, do you write them as you are reading them or wait until you are completely done with the book?

I read the whole book before I even begin a review. I like to get lost in the story without having to worry about what I'm going to write.

So this week I am celebrating making it through week two of summer vacation. It's been crazy hot here, so I am really thankful for our amazing A/C. And I am so exited to be a shiny new intern for the amazing Candace Havens a.k.a. Editorial Director for Covet Books at Entangled Publishing. I am thrilled to be a small part of such a fantastic company.

What are you celebrating this week? Big or small join in so we can all cheer each other on.

One last note....check back here around noon EST for a big surprise from the amazing Cora Carmack. If you loved Losing It, you are so not going to want to miss this!

Have a great weekend and Stay Gold everyone!

  13. I am so engrained to writing reviews, that it actually doesn't bother me to write as I am reading. It is actually easier for me to do it that way. I am enjoying everyone's answers.

  54. Hi, Meredith!

Oh, I LOVE that Hemingway quote! Everything he says in it is SO true!!

I usually read the whole book, too, before starting my review. However, there have been occasions when I've kinda "cheated" because I've been pressed for time. But I don't really like to do this, and try to avoid it.

CONGRATS on your new job!! I totally envy you! I wish I could work for a book publisher myself...
