Take Two by Laurelin Paige BOOK TOUR, REVIEW & Giveaway!

Book Title: Take Two

Author: Laurelin Paige

Release Date: February 4, 2014

Publisher: Samhain Publishing

Summary: He’s ready for his close up, but she’s the one calling the shots.

On the night of her graduation from film school, straight-laced Maddie Bauers fell completely out of character for an oh-my-god make-out session with a perfect stranger. Complete with the big O.

Seven years later, that romantic interlude is still fresh in her mind. That stranger is now a rich and famous actor. And she’s one very distracted camera assistant working on his latest production. She might consider another tryst…if he even remembers her.

Micah Preston does indeed remember Maddie. Too bad he’s sworn off Hollywood relationships. He allows himself as much sex as he likes—and oh, he does like—but anything more is asking for trouble. For the woman, not for him. Yet knowing Maddie could want more than a movie-set fling doesn’t stop him from pursuing her like a moth drawn to hot stage lights.

But as the shoot nears its end, it’s decision time. Is it time to call, “Cut!” on their affair, or is there enough material for a sequel?

Warning: Contains a dreamy movie star hero, a focus-pulling heroine, off-the-charts instant chemistry, steamy sex in near-public locations, and a new use for lip gloss.

Jennifer's Review
TAKE TWO is a refreshingly different Hollywood Themed story!

This book kicks off with main female character Maddie Bauer attending against her will (her best friend convinces her to go) a party to celebrate film school graduation. She ends up making out with mysterious and gorgeous stranger Micah.  Maddie has to leave quickly with her friend and Micah promises to contact Maddie but she never hears from him. Maddie is smart, driven and serious about her career so she moves on with her life (though this meeting with Micah has always been in the back of her mind).

Seven years later goes by and Maddie has become a successfully camera assistant with aspirations of directing her own film. Now she has been called in as a camera assistant on Micah Preston’s new film. Maddie has followed Micah's success without really trying to :-)  In 7 years since Maddie has seen Micah Preston he has become Hollywood’s top leading man and playboy.

The day after Micah met Maddie at the party he got signed to a new acting role and agent. He is essentially told and believes that he can't have both a career in Hollywood and a relationship. Micah is serious about sacrificing everything to accomplish his dream in the film industry. And well relationships complicate that or women just want something from him.

Maddie remembers Micah well but Micah pretends NOT to remember Maddie. Which is ok with Maddie because with Micah’s reputation as a playboy and her focus on her career she is not interested in being another fling. As they get to know each other Micah’s barriers begin to break down and their attraction and connection is palpable. LIKE OMG!

This book is very well written , flows nicely, and is a quick read. There are lots of twists and turns that keep you hooked throughout. The story is cleverly told from Maddie’s and Micah’s POV. I love alternating POVs so I was very happy that this is the way Laurelin wrote this book that way, as I feel it helps with connecting to the story and characters. A recipe for a good book and Laurelin did a great job!

There is no cliff-hanger ending as this is a standalone book but I would love more of Maddie and Micah. Overall a sexy, steamy, and fun  read!

About Laurelin: Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She's a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there's kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn't seem to complain, however. When she isn't reading or writing sexy stories, she's probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.
