Awaken by L.J. Sealey Blog Tour Review and Giveaway!

Welcome to the Blog Tour for L.J. Sealey's book AWAKEN - a Divine Hunter Novel
Released on 19th November 2013.

BLURB:
Michael Warden used to live a normal life. A successful entrepreneur he had everything until his life got taken away from him. Literally. Now he is trapped in a world that shouldn’t exist, fighting things that should only exist in nightmares in a quest to find out the truth about what happened to him.

Lacy Holloway is finally content in the little town of Oakland, Garrett Co. Working at the local university, she has finally allowed herself to move on from the one thing that had haunted her past. Aside from an unsettling string of suicides at her place of work, Lacy is happy. Then a new colleague enters her life. Michael is handsome, smart and their friendship is instant…Easy.

That is, until another student attempts to take her own life and Lacy is hurled into a world of nightmares which she soon discovers Michael is already a part of. As they are forced to face demons, both the supernatural and the emotional kind, they also have to face the realisation that they are both beginning to feel things for each other that neither of them expected, least of all Michael. As well as trying not to fall too deeply for the woman who has captivated him, he is shocked to discover things about his very existence that could change both their lives and the world as they know it.

Jennifer's Review:
Awaken is a Paranormal Romance which is L.J. Sealey's debut novel in this series. It gets you gripped right from the very first page.

Michael -  was a successful entrepreneur until he died. Now he is trapped in the human world in someone else's body fighting off the evil that exists in this world - demons - all the while trying to find out exactly what happened to him. Michael follows stories of mass suicides at the University in Oakland. He believes that the only thing that can be behind them is a demon. He heads off to Oakland to investigate them -- he gets a job as a professor at the University. He meets his colleague Lacy and is immediately drawn to her. He has sworn off any human relationships in the pursuit of ridding the world of demons but just can't seem to stay away from her.

Lacy - somewhat of a loner who works at the local university and is content in her quiet life. She has something tragic that happened her past but she has been trying to move on from it. Then she meets her new colleague, Michael. They have an instant easy connection - a friendship - but she is drawn to him and desires more.

Together with the help of Evo, Michaels friend and X they start investigating these suicides and are in for the battle of their lives.

This book had me laughing out loud, but also has some very intense and emotional scenes. The ending will leave you wanting book 2 immediately. While it does tie up some things with regard to Michael's past, there is another journey he must take. Get your copy and jump into 'Awaken'.

HOLLY’S TOP 5 LIKES FOR BEING IN A SORORITY

Some sororities get bad press. But not mine. Since I discovered I can teleport to Eiros, NYC’s Innerworld, I found out I’m part of a sorority there. The Sorority of the sun.

Yeah, I’m bound to an ancient sun god too, but that’s a whole other story. Or more precisely, it’s at the heart of THE story, SCION OF THE SUN.

So here’s what I like about being part of the Sorority of the sun:

1.)  I have a hot warrior protecting me. His name’s Joss. Tall, dark hair, blue eyes, gorgeous. Devoted to his job. And a great kisser.

2.)  Mack (he’s the leader), Oscar (he’s a grouch), Maeve (she’s the peacekeeper) and Joss always have my back. When we walk, it’s like I’m the president surrounded by the secret service.

3.)  I get to learn really cool stuff, like Ogham, an ancient Celtic language.

4.)  I find a place, the Temple of Grian, where I’m at peace. Whenever I’m there I feel safe.

5.)  I feel like I finally belong. Like these people I barely know really get me. It’s heady stuff for a loner like me.

I’m going to be spending a lot of time with these guys, so it’s lucky I like them so much, huh?

USA TODAY bestselling author Nicola Marsh writes flirty fiction with flair for adults and riveting, spooky stories for teens.

Her debut young adult novel, a supernatural thriller BANISH, released with Harlequin Teen August 2013, and her YA urban fantasy series kicks off with SCION OF THE SUN, November 2013, with Month9Books.

She’s also a Waldenbooks, Bookscan and Barnes & Noble bestseller, a 2013 RBY (Romantic Book of the Year) and National Readers’ Choice Award winner, and a multi-finalist for a number of awards including the Romantic Times Reviewers’ Choice Award, HOLT Medallion, Booksellers’ Best, Golden Quill, Laurel Wreath, More than Magic and has also won several CataRomance Reviewers’ Choice Awards.

Suddenly Royal by Nichole Chase-Interview with Crown Prince Alex of Lilaria

We are beyond excited to be able to share with you all the release of Nichole Chase's SUDDENLY ROYAL in paperback! This book is gorgeous and will definitely be one you'll want to add to your shelf!

Suddenly RoyalSamantha Rousseau is used to getting her hands dirty. Working on a master's degree in wildlife biology while helping take care of her sick father, she has no time for celebrity gossip, designer clothes, or lazy vacations. So when a duchess from the small country of Lilaria invites her to dinner, Samantha assumes it's to discuss a donation for the program. The truth will change the course of her life in ways she never dreamed . . .

As crown prince of Lilaria, Alex D'Lynsal has had his share of scandalous headlines, but the latest pictures in the press have sent him packing to America and forced him to swear off women. That is, until he meets Samantha Rousseau. She's stubborn, feisty, and incredibly sexy. Not to mention heiress to an estate in his country, which makes her everyone's front-page news.

While Sam tries to navigate her new world of politics and wealth, she will also have to dodge her growing feelings for Alex. Giving in to them means more than just falling in love; it would mean accepting the weight of an entire country on her shoulders.

Be sure to check out the release day event and giveaway for Suddenly Royal HERE.

Today we are thrilled to welcome the crown Prince of Lilaria, Alex D'Lynsal to our blog. But before we being the interview, we need to take a moment of silence to swoon......

Ok, now that we've gotten that out of our system (Sorry Sam), let's get on to the interview.

Meredith:  What is the best perk to being the crown prince of Lilaria?
Alex:  Well, the toys and travel are definitely perks!

Jennifer:   What is on a prince's breakfast menu?
Alex:  Eggs. Any way I can get them. And bacon. You can’t have enough bacon.

Meredith:  Share a little known fact about Lilaria.
Alex:  Lilaria was able to fend off the Romans for almost twenty years.

Jennifer:   First word that comes to mind when you think of the first time you saw Sam.
ALex:  Intrigued.

Meredith:  If you could declare a new Lilarian holiday, what would it be and how would it be celebrated?
Alex:  Oooh. Now that is an interesting question. Hm. Maybe a holiday to celebrate nature. Everyone can celebrate by picking up litter. Okay. That doesn’t sound like fun. What about cleaning up and then partying? That would work for me. Plant trees have a good time. Or is that Arbor day?

Jennifer:  Favorite musician.
Alex:  Right now I’m really enjoying Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Meredith:  If for one day you could be a regular guy that no one knows, what would you do?
Alex:  Something—anything with animals. I’d clean stables if it meant I could work with animals and spend time outside.

Jennifer:  What was it about Sam that drew you to her?
Alex:  She was so direct. It was refreshing. Not to mention, she’s gorgeous and funny.

Meredith:   What does a prince do in his free time?
Alex:   If I told you that, Samantha would be upset. *winks*
Meredith:  Shoot. Well, I had to try.
Jennifer:  So much for the stalking idea. I mean, so much for casually bumping into you out somewhere.
Meredith:  Yup, kind of puts a damper on the weekend plans. *sigh*

Meredith:   If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play you?
Alex:   I’ve heard people say that I resemble Chris Hemsworth and he seems like a decent fellow, so, I guess he would work.

Thanks so much for being here with us today Alex. Please give Sam our best!
Meredith:  Is he gone?
Jennifer:  Yes.
Meredith:  Holy hotness. I think I left my jaw on the floor.
Jennifer:  Is that what that was?
Meredith:  Please, the line of drool from your lip could lead us to a house made of candy.
Jennifer:  Whatever.
Meredith:  A PRINCE was just here. A HOT PRINCE.
Jennifer:  *collapses on floor*

SPRING MOON by HRH Princess Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian Blog Tour

Welcome to the Blog Tour for HRH Princess Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian's book SPRING MOON - a Indiana Teller Novel
Released on November 5th 2013.

Title: SPRING MOON
Author: HRH Princess Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian
Pub. Date: November 5, 2013
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Pages: 338

Goodreads summary:
Amid the expansive plains of Montana, the Lykos Ranch stretches for miles. The inhabitants who live in near isolation from the outside world are members of the most powerful clan of werewolves in North America. Among them lives just one human: Indiana Teller.

Grandson of the clan’s leader and offspring of a werewolf father and a mysterious yet human mother, Indiana is rejected by his peers and heads to the University of Montana to find a normal life. Despite warnings from his grandparents, he falls in love with a beautiful human, Katerina.

Before too long, he is the victim of an accident that would have killed him had he not miraculously vanished at the moment of impact. Are these strange occurrences just chance or the machinations of a hidden enemy out to destroy him? Facing his destiny, Indiana will have to choose who to believe, and who to love.

Jennifer's Review:
First let me say that I have read more than my fair share of supernatural books involving "werewolves". But right from the start this book is different in a couple of ways-- its written from a male point of view and Audouin-Mamikonian does that very well. It was refreshing to read a book from the main male character. Secondly the main character Indiana, is not a werewolf and the book centers on him dealing with that fact in a werewolf world. This book is also from an author that I have never read anything from before so I was interested to dive in. In the end it was a fun, quick, and fast paced read with likeable characters. Actually I read it in one night.

Indian Teller - the main character in this story. He is the mostly human grandson of the leader of the werewolves. Indiana's father was a werewolf but his mother was human ---with a gift.

Growing up in the pack of werewolves but not being one made Indiana's life difficult. His humor, intelligence and resilience throughout the book make him a likeable and relatable character that you root for throughout the book. At the age of 18 years old Indiana convinces his Grandparents to allow him to go to college where he meets Tyler - an adversary, and Kat - a love interest.

The story had mystery in the form of Indiana's mothers gift, betrayal from someone within the pack, love, members of the same race coming to odds with each other, and help from an unlikely source.

The ending tied up a lot of loose ends while still leaving huge openings for the story to continue in a second book. I will definitely be picking up that book up when it comes out.

About Princess Sophie:
Princess Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian is not your typical princess. In fact, she’s a prolific author who works hard to perfect her writing. See what it is like to be in the shoes of a princess author.

Reap by Christina Channelle Book Blitz & Giveaway

Reap
Release Date: 10/11/13

Summary from Goodreads:
Foreign, or rather unfamiliar, would be the word I would use to describe how I felt.

Faintly, I could hear the glimmer of voices surrounding me in this dark haze, caressing my ears like skin against silk. I felt like I was in a cocoon of sorts, protectively enveloped, quietly drifting in some far-off place. I wanted to stay that way forever.

But we all know that what you want never really seems to happen in the real world.

Something’s not right in Mia’s head.

The first thing is that her name isn’t Mia. In fact, she has no clue what her name is—who she is. All that she knows is that she’s not like the ones who found her: Dante with his kind blue eyes, Amy with her child-like demeanor, James with his questioning gaze.

And Briggs.

The one she cannot decipher no matter how hard she tries.

As Mia tries to fit in with these people, a strange occurrence is amidst outside. And as she finally remembers who she is …

Well, let’s just say that things get a little more complicated.

Facebook vs. Twitter or Perfection vs. Reality

I’ve been asked a few times recently why Jennifer and I don’t have a Facebook page for our blog or why I don't post often on my own personal page. The truth is, I don’t use Facebook much. In fact, if I'm being honest, it seriously annoys me. While I could put it into words, instead I was inspired to put in a blog post. So, today will be a break from the usual bookish post as I share the story of my family trip to the pumpkin patch via Facebook and via Twitter.

For the record, I have three children ages 8, 6, and 4. My husband and I looked forward to taking them to pick out pumpkins at a nearby farm. This local farm is a fantastic place with all sorts of activities for kids. In theory, it should have been a day to remember. And technically it was.

So here is how our day went according to Facebook:

Looks like a fun-filled day, right?

Now, here is how our day went according to Twitter:

Ready to go to pumpkin patch, until DD#2 freaked about clothes...AGAIN. #diva

Youngest child insisting on bringing her farm animals from school. Not giving in. #yesigavein

Youngest now insisting on taking pictures with said farm animals. Not gonna do it. #yesidid

Lots of activities, unfortunately all three kids want to do something different. #worstnightmare

Pretty sure a kid just peed in the bounce house. Now kids are screaming b/c I won’t let them jump in urine. #germfactory

We have to pay for every activity? PER KID?? This stupid pumpkin is gonna cost over $100. #poshfarm #nothowweroll #goldenpumpkin

Ninety-fing degrees in October. Sweating our butts off looking at rotten pumpkins #nofallhere #florididiots

Wish annoying family taking pics in front of us would give up. It’s been 20 mins. Safe to assume lil’ Johnny ain’t gonna smile. #selfabsorbed #screamingkids

Ready to pick up a pumpkin and chuck it at said annoying family. #letsdothis #readytorumble

$15 for a small rotten pumpkin? Now kids are screaming b/c we aren’t buying stupid pumpkins. #shouldhavegonetowalmart #shouldhavestayedhome

WTF just crawled up my leg? Does this corn maze ever end? #iaminhell

Just followed annoying family home. They live four houses down the street. #figures #gonnagetteepeed

Hot, sweaty, kids still crying over stupid rotten pumpkins and bounce house. #ihateflorida #octobersucks #neveragain

Notice any differences?

So there you have it. Don't get me wrong, I do occasionally use Facebook. I like to stay in touch with friends that live far away or I haven't seen in years and it's easier (aka lazy) to like posted pictures or comments than actually picking up a phone or sending an email (note the sarcasm). But I definitely feel like I fit in better with the Twitter crowd.

So while everyone on Facebook is enjoying their perfect existence, I will readily admit to the Twitter crowd when I have a day (or ten) where all I can do is sit back, plug my ears, and scream SERENITY NOW!

So what about you guys? Do you find you post more on Twitter or Facebook?
