REIGN
This show is good. Like, creepy good! I can't believe how much I enjoyed it. From the eerie ghost story vibe to the freaktastic chick with the burlap sack...I really can't wait to see where this show goes.
The show starts out with a bang, or rather some blood when a poor nun does a deadly taste testing for Mary, Queen of Scots. Looks like the secret hiding place isn't so secret anymore. So Mary is sent to the French Court for her safety, and because her future husband is there. She's, ya know, becoming "of age" so might as well get reacquainted with her betrothed.
Thankfully Mary is greeted by her fabulous childhood friends:
And then they all wait as Prince Francis appears:
But oops, that's not him. That's his half-brother. But YUM!
So won't the real Prince Francis please stand up?
Yes there you are. Both great guys in their own right. Hmmm, is that a love triangle I smell coming?
Now there is also the issue of the mother-in-law, Queen Catherine. And I thought I had mother-in-law issues...This lady is crazy evil (in a good way of course).
But can she stop her son from falling for Mary's charms:
Only time will tell on that one.
Now, I get it. For the history buffs out there this show is a nightmare. It's not historically accurate it any way, shape, or form. Did you get that? IT IS NOT HISTORICALLY ACCURATE. What it is is a guilty pleasure that is full of pretty people, creepy intrigue, gorgeous fashion, and a fabulous music score. This show is just plain FUN. If you can let go of the whole, "But Mary, Queen of Scots, did not do that, or that, and Prince Francis didn't have a half-brother, and.." blah...blah...blah..hello this is The CW people. It's all about the fun. Watch it and have fun with it for what it is. I know I will!
So you know what I'll be doing every Thursday between the hours of 8PM EST and 10PM:
