Inkslinger Deep Blue TOUR ad GIVEAWAY!

Deep Blue Synopsis:

When Cali Morgan kicks off her perfect post-college summer in Lake Tahoe, she has everything she ever wanted: acceptance into a top law program, a gorgeous boyfriend, and an incredible summer planned with her best friend.

Confident about her place in the world, Cali makes it her mission to be her friend’s wingwoman and help her meet guys. What Cali doesn’t count on is running into Jaeger Lang, one of her older brother’s high school friends, or the sparks that fly when she’s around him.

Jaeger has changed, and it’s not just the added height and muscle. There’s something about him that’s deep and a little scarred. In spite of the changes, Jaeger becomes a top pick for her friend—if Cali can keep her hands off him.

But when Cali’s boyfriend dumps her and her carefully laid plans begin to unravel, she finds herself questioning what it is she truly desires. In the midst of doubts about her future, one thing is very clear: she wants Jaeger for her own. The question is, has her friend already fallen for him?

Jennifer's Review:
Deep Blue is a new adult contemporary romance and it is the first book in The Blue Series
We follow Cali, who along with her best friend Gen who have just finished college . Cali  got accepted into Harvard as pre-law and starts in  the fall. Cali and Gen plan to have one amazing summer before its back to "real life". Through Cali's mom's connections she and Gen get jobs in Lake Tahoe working at the casinos. The Summer is starting to looking AMAZING until....
The Characters:
Cali --
Cali's got it all figured out prior to the summer she spends in Lake Tahoe. She has a "perfect" boyfriend, a great best friend, wonderful family, and a bright future. But then it all starts to unravel -- is Cali strong enough to put the pieces back together?
I liked that Deep Blue was different from a lot of books today-- Deep Blue starts with a strong female character (Cali) who gets broken down by the sometimes unfortunate harsh realities in life.  Throughout the story Cali learns how to struggle (when she never has had to struggle before) and then how to make out the other end of these struggles.  I think that made her a little bit of a selfish character but that did not bother me too much. The relationship between Cali and her brother was strong and well done. I liked his character - oddly enough we actually got more insight into him than we did into Gen. We get an "inkling" of his back story and this is one that I can't wait to hear about.
 Gen --
We honestly don't get too much into Gen..and that left a gap for me. Gen was pretty mysterious and almost aloof throughout the whole book. Being that she was Cali's best friend I was expecting more insight into her character.
 Jaeger --
Former athlete who got sidelined by an injury. He has turned his life around and found a new passion. He was sweet and loyal -- my favorite character in this book.

I would say this is a romance story. I enjoyed the story but the ending felt very rushed and ALOT of new problems got introduced at the very end and then all got resolved just as quick. I don't think they added value to the story as there was not much development. The story would of been just as good if not better if they just focused on the relationships.

This a quick, light read. In addition to Cali & Jaeger's relationship it is about having the courage to follow your dreams -- even when they turn out to be dreams you never thought you had.  I enjoyed the attraction and the humorous dialogue between the characters. I also enjoyed the storyline but at times I want it to give me more info or less.
